A New Truck

Dennis bought a new truck today!

It is a new to us 2001 Dodge Dakota EXT.

The lighting is not ideal, but here is a picture!

Where I'm headed, I hope!

I love this story.

One more time, with feeling!

My car is back at the shop today. The new a/c compressor that was put on for $1009 last week does not work. We just wanted them to put on a new belt and tighten it, but when they did, the compressor seized.

They're fixing it under warranty. I suspect it never worked correctly to begin with.

I can't stand having someone besides Dennis working on my car.

And the wedding cake had a turbo on it!

Friends were married this evening at Villa Antonio Winery.

Dennis and I had a good time and caught up with some people on the way back machine.

People from the Neon club.

Now I must sleep.

Nostalgia Drags

We went to the Muscle Car Reunion & Nostalgia Drags at Gateway today.

That's some shiny chrome!

Chris got sunburnt where he didn't put sunscreen, and my part got it too. Ouch! It was worth it though.

When it rains it's hot

So now that my fuel pump and radio work and my car is all packed up to go camping this weekend, my air conditioner conked out on the way home from work.

I quit!

My car has never been a huge POS before. I guess I'm just "lucky" or something.

"All New" Neon

Dennis is replacing my fuel pump.

This is how my car got home after work. It has never been towed before.

"All Old" Neon

Well, I didn't want an "All New" Camaro eariler today, but now that my car is dead in the Schnuck's parking lot and I took an inadvertent 90 minute lunch, I guess I'd take one!

"All New" Camaro

I saw an All New Camaro with dealer plates on it this morning. It was crossing the bridge and got off the highway at Earth City. My guess is it was going to the casino to sit around for a special promotion.

There is zero engine noise on the highway, and the guy wouldn't give me a look over so I could get him to rev it up or anything. I think it was a V6. There were no markings signifying it as an SS, and I don't think it had the extended facia the V8 cars have.

It was nice to see, but it did not make me want one. The exterior styling is, well, bland. It wasn't just that it didn't photograph well.

Second Monday

My car would not start this morning. With no warning whatsoever.

It went "crank crank crank" "crank crank click" "click click click".

I turned to Chris and said, "You'd better start walking." So off he went, violin case in hand.

I opened the hood and started poking around. Sure enough, the entire protective boot on the positive battery connection was packed with corrosion. EW!

Baking soda watered down to a paste will really clean your battery terminals quickly. After about 40 minutes of cleaning, prying, scraping and rinsing, my car was running again.

I've had it for almost 11 years, and this is the first time I've been late to work because of it, so I guess I can't complain. I still feel like complaining though.
